I chose 'Coding for Basketball' because I never would of thought about using Python or any language for any aspect of basketball. It was unheard of to me and I was intrigued. Rachel, the writer, explained how she uses millions of data to find trends and apply models to them. This leads to her, for example, predicting shooting ability based on data of shots taken by NBA players. Rachel needs to know the languages and tools: Python, R, and Jupyter Notebooks. She also needs a basic knowledge of basketball. She learned this while being a student-athlete at UCSD, where she was first aspiring to become a doctor but changed to Bioinformatics-Computer Science major.

The two challenges that stuck out to me the most were challenges 2, the government restricting access, and 7, the protection of identity and privacy. I picked challenge two because of the reality and presence it has on all of our lives. For example many countries, such as China and North Korea, restrict their citizens from viewing certain websites or even using the internet at all, an argument Cerf made would ruin the potential of the internet from being open to everyone. The internet is designed to be a lot like democracy and liberty, available for everyone to have their own voice and make it heard. I chose challenge 7 as well, because even though countries like the US do not restrict access they do use the internet to spy on their own citizens. The NSA/Snowden scandal proved this to be true, but the great thing about the US is that since their is no internet restriction, it was made news available to all citizens.
